According to GMS the 95,700-dwt Eagle Subaru (built 1994) was sold “as is” in Labuan but will be recycled in Pakistan.
The firm, which bills itself as the world’s largest cash buyer, claims the vessel commanded $475 per ldt, a rate it described as “aggressive”.
This amounts to a payday of approximately $7.5m, which is roughly $5.5m less than what ICON is believed to have paid when it acquired the tanker from AET in March 2011.
