Qatar’s Halul Offshore Services has scrapped two anchor-handler (AHTS) newbuildings at Indian yard Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in a dire offshore market.
They were part of a $260m, 10-ship series of six platform supply vesses (PSVs) and four AHTS units ordered in 2012 and 2013.
A Halul spokesman told the Live Mint website that the 150-bp vessels cost $20m each. They are complete and the yard is now said to be looking for a buyer.
