Sovcomflot has splashed out on a sextet of modern aframax shuttle tankers from compatriot owner Primorsk International Shipping (Prisco).
Details of the deal revealed by Prisco in a statement on Wednesday are being kept under wraps, however.
It is not known how much Sergey Frank-led Sovcomflot has spent on the ships, all of which are over 100,000 dwt but under seven years old.
