US tanker operator SeaRiver Maritime has penned an order for a pair of aframaxes at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.

Aker CEO Kristian Rokke took the helm in April 2011.
The US shipbuilder’s Oslo-listed parent says the ExxonMobil affiliate intends to put the 115,000-dwt units to work on a route that links Prince William Sound to the US West Coast.

In an exchange filing, Aker said project planning work is currently underway with technical partner Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea.
