Markets sources say SeaRiver Maritime has lined up a buyer for the 125,000-dwt Sierra (built 1979) but note the transaction isn’t scheduled to close until next year when the operator takes delivery of an aframax under construction at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.
It is widely believed that Occidental Petroleum purchased the vessel and plans to charter it to Keystone Shipping but some industry contacts claim the reverse is true.
