Greek shipowner Thanassis Martinos is looking for a trading buyer for an 18-year-old VLCC when other tankers of the same vintage are heading to the breakers' beaches.
Martinos-backed Eastern Mediterranean Maritime (Eastmed) has instructed several brokers to seek a buyer for the 298,000-dwt Lucky Trader (built 2000).
While some see the VLCC as a demolition candidate, TradeWinds is told Martinos has not instructed brokers to engage scrap buyers.
