Eagle Bulk Shipping purchased its second newbuilding since adding growth firepower to its balance sheet.
The New York-listed bulker owner said it bought a 64,000-dwt ultramax on order at Chengxi Shipyard.
The ship, which was not identified, will be delivered in January as the Singapore Eagle.
Bao Fortune mulled
TradeWinds has previously reported that Eagle Bulk was in negotiations to buy HTM Shipping's 63,500-dwt Bao Fortune (built 2016) while it was under construction at the same Chinese yard.
