Oil major Chevron has pencilled in a $1.3bn order for an offshore platform at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).
The mammoth order pushes the South Korean builder a long way past it annual sales target just before the year draws to a close.
Chevron has signed a preliminary agreement to one gas-producing platform which is expected to be used offshore Australia, a statement from DSME read on Thursday.
