DryShips has sold a Japanese-built panamax bulk carrier to its chief executive at what it says is an above-market price.
George Economou is buying the 74,200-dwt Oregon (built 2002), which was constructed at Oshima Shipbuilding.
The New York-listed shipowner did not reveal the price but said it was 10% above the market value set by independent shipbrokers.
Debt included
The vessel was sold “along with its associated debt”, DryShips said.
