Demolition prices rose in key South Asia markets last week as activity picked up, according to a report by GMS.
The surge pushed prices for general cargoships by $10 per ldt in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, where ship recycling activity had previously slowed to a standstill as a result of a strong monsoon season.
Bangladesh led the surge with Taiwan's First Steamship fetching 72,500-dwt Ever Blossom (built 1997) $278 per ldt, which equates to about $2.81m
