Italy's d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) has bought a 2003-built tanker it already operates on time charter.
Its Irish subsidiary has agreed to acquire the 40,100-dwt Cielo di Milano (built 2003) from sister operation d'Amico Shipping Italia for $14m in cash.
"The purchase need arises from the characteristics of the features of this ship suited to a specific route in which it will be immediately engaged," it said.
