In a statement the diversified US operator said it sold the 45,800-dwt Pennsylvania (built 2012) and Florida (built 2013) to Kinder Morgan Energy Partners.
“This transaction helps Crowley maintain a healthy balance in our capital program,” added Tom Crowley Jr, the owner’s long-time chairman and chief executive.
Crowley Jr pointed out that his company has invested more than $1.5bn in the construction of Jones Act product tankers and articulated-tug barges (ATBs) in recent years.
