The beleaguered Korean shipbuilder revealed in a regulatory filing today that a European owner has culled a KRW 222.2bn ($206.5m) contract for one LNG newbuilding placed in June 2012.

Though it does not name the customer, Alpha Gas, a sister company to Alpha Tankers & Freighters, is the only firm that fits the bill, according to Clarksons data.

The company made its debut in the sector in 2011 when it converted an order for a capesize bulker into a 160,000-cbm LNG carrier and returned for a second vessel the following year.
