George Alexandratos’s Apollonia Lines is said to be the buyer of the 76,800-dwt Lowlands Camellia (built 2006). The Sasebo-built ship reportedly raised $6.5m.
The Lowlands Camellia would be Apollonia’s second ship. The company is currently listed with another panamax made in Japan -- the Imabari-built 76,600-dwt Blue Chip (built 2007).
Alexandratos was not available to comment. He and his sister Katerina are scions of a traditional shipping family, which had stayed out of the market for years.
