Philippines ferry owner 2Go is considering ordering another newbuilding next year.
The group has eight fast ferries and 13 ro-paxes on the water, and Austal is building two 300-passenger catamarans for delivery in June 2017.
2Go shipmanagement chief Eduardo Dela Cruz told Passenger Ship Technology that the aim was to contract another fast ship next year.
The current newbuildings are diesel, but 2Go could make the next one a hybrid.
