D’Amico-controlled Sirius Ship Management is expanding its operations in Italy.

The Genoa-based company, which provides crews for more than 120 vessels for Italian and international owners, has acquired Italian navigation electronics and communication company Generalmarine.

The move enables Sirius to expand its ship management and crew recruitment operations and provides Generalmarine with opportunities to grow, the companies said.

Filippo Guadagna, president of Sirius, said: “The journey started years ago with Generalmarine has now logically evolved into the integration of the two companies, enabling us to provide a broad range of services to shipping companies.
