Norway's SeaBird Exploration is planning a private placement of stock to buy a CGG seismic ship.
The company said it would sell shares worth between NOK 80m and NOK 120m ($14.79m) to buy the 93-loa GeoWave Voyager (built 2008).
The ship is costing $17m in cash, including certain seismic equipment.
The vessel was priced at $120m as a newbuilding.
It has the capacity to tow up to 10 streamers and is well-suited for 2D, source and niche 3D projects, SeaBird said.
