Greece’s Samios Shipping has emerged as the new owner of a seven-year-old panamax that was sold last month from the fleet of Indonesia’s Arpeni Pratama Ocean Lines (APOL).
The Greek company confirmed it was the buyer of the 75,700-dwt Padmini (built 2012) for a price of about $12.5m.
The Padmini, which entered the Samios fleet this month as the Agia Ypomoni, becomes the youngest and largest vessel ever operated by the Piraeus-based shipowner.
