A salvage operation has begun in Chile after a new wellboat sank off Puerto Montt.
Four navy ships have been deployed to prevent pollution after the 2,500-dwt live fish carrier Seikongen (built 2017) went down on Wednesday, the Latin American Herald Tribune reported.
The vessel suffered damage and began taking on water during loading.
The master informed authorities and ordered an evacuation of the 12-person crew.
