The US Coast Guard evacuated an elderly woman from a Carnival cruiseship Sunday morning.
Agency watchstanders responded by helicopter to the the 110,000-gt Carnival Valor (built 2004) roughly 58 miles off the Texas coast on reports a 71-year-old woman required medical assistance.
The woman, and a nurse from the ship, were then flown ashore to emergency medical services at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
