A US tug has been sent to try to refloat a Thorco Shipping cargoship aground on a remote reef in French Polynesia.
The 16,900-dwt Thorco Lineage (built 2014) got stuck last week off Raroia in the Tuamotus chain of atolls, Radio New Zealand reported.
French and French Polynesian authorities have held a meeting to consider salvage options.
The vessel is carrying zinc from the US to Australia.
