It was called into action in mid-August to help the 8,513-dwt Fair Afroditi (built 2008), which suffered an explosion during tank cleaning.
“Severe structural damage was sustained, flooding of the engine room and cargo tanks occurred and the casualty listed about 18 degrees to port,” Tsavliris said.
Within two days of the incident a Tsavliris Salvage team comprising of a salvage master, salvage engineers and riggers was mobilised from Greece to Lome.
