A Tropical Shipping vessel has aided in the rescue of two people after their boat sank off St Croix in the US Virgin Islands, the US Coast Guard said.
The Miami ship operator's 5,000-dwt multipurpose ship Tropic Express (built 2011) rescued the pair in cooperation with a US Coast Guard helicopter.
"We were glad to play a part in their rescue and grateful for the assistance of the passing merchant vessel," said Lieutenant Jacob Conrad, the helicopter co-pilot.
