A Columbia Shipmanagement tanker has been damaged after hitting a pier in Mexico.

Local reports said the 70,000-dwt Fedor (built 2003) came into contact with pier 9 at the Pemex terminal in Salina Cruz on 2 July.

The Milenio website said a sudden storm increased wind speeds and caused the vessel to break its moorings.

Photos showed part of the pier was demolished, which caused fuel to leak from pipes.
