A supramax owned by Star Bulk Carriers has grounded on the Parana River earlier today.
The 52,994-dwt Star Zeta (built 2003) ran aground close to the San Pedro port during its downriver navigation.
Local maritime agency NABSA said the vessel is presently obstructing the navigation in the main channel both ways.
For the time being, only vessels with a draft of up to seven meters are allowed to pass through the secondary channel.
