Somali pirates have captured a Samudera-owned general cargoship and are now using it as a mothership in an attack which only came to light on Wednesday, TradeWinds has learned.



The latest hijacking came as a Tunisian vessel which has been held for four months was freed after payment of a ransom.

Saumdera's 8,911-dwt Sinar Kudus was boarded east of the Yemeni island of Socotra but authorities only became aware of the incident on Wednesday afternoon.
