Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries has announced a new plan to bolster safety following a fatal crane collapse in May.
The scheme will help create a hazard-free working environment by 2018, according to the JoongAng daily.
Samsung is setting up a committee on safety management and will also upgrade the original safety team into an independent division, thereby increasing its authority.
It is looking to recruit a global expert to head this, and expects to make an appointment by September.
