Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries has appointed an Australian safety officer following a fatal crane crash in May.
Peter Hayward has been brought in as an executive director to head its newly established safety management division.
The Australian, 57, started out at ExxonMobil in 1982 as a health and safety engineer, the Korea Times reported.
He has continued to work with oil majors and engineering companies.
