Authorities in Russia and Iran were trying to prevent a cargoship from sinking in the Caspian Sea on Friday.
The ISNA news agency said the 2,800-dwt Nargol (built 1987) had suffered a breach off Astara in Iran, citing Iranian naval forces.
"A rescue team from the Iranian naval forces and a group of divers from the Northern Russian Fleet are already in place and are trying to prevent the ship from sinking," a statement said.
