Philippine soldiers are reported to have discovered what they believe are the decapitated bodies of two Vietnamese sailors.

The gruesome discovery was made near the southern island of Basilan, according Reuters quoting an army spokeswoman.

The two men were among six crewmembers abducted from the 5,600-dwt Royal 16 (built 2011) by a group 10 armed men last November.

The abducted men were later confirmed as the master, the chief mate, the second and third officers, the bosun and a rating.
