An NYK-managed multi-purpose vessel has become the latest victim of Somali pirates as a plethora of other ships were also attacked in the last two days.
The 20,200-dwt Izumi (built 2007) was hijacked in the Somali Basin on Sunday, an informed source told TradeWinds.
The Panama-flagged ship was taken in the middle of the afternoon some 80 miles north-east of the Kenyan port of Mombasa.
