The agency was called in after the incident involving the 69,600-dwt Overseas Reymar (built 2004) was classified as a “major marine casualty” as it involves more than $500,000 in property damage.
Barry Strauch, who has been named as the NTSB’s “investigator-in-charge", landed in California Tuesday and is due to arrive at the scene of the crash sometime today, a spokesman told TradeWinds Wednesday.
