A near miss for a Costa Cruises vessel in Venice has brought renewed calls for a ban on big cruiseships in the Italian city.
Video footage shows the 93,300-gt Costa Deliziosa (Built 2010) making a last-ditch turn in a storm to avoid crashing into a waterside restaurant on Sunday.
Costa cited the “violent, extraordinary and sudden meteorological event” as the cause, Euronews reported.
