The lower Mississippi River new New Orleans was reopened Friday following a grounding earlier in the day.
The grounding of the 114,248-dwt Anglo Alexandria (built 2011) created a queue of more than 50 ships waiting to enter or exit the river.
The situation was compounded by dense fog in the area over the last few days which resulted in more vessels than normal being delayed.
