A Filipino captain has relived the moment he and his crew had to abandon ship after running into huge waves off the Philippines.
The 3,506-dwt Meridian Tres (built 1998) sank on Tuesday evening between Bohol and Leyte. One man was reported missing, but 28 were rescued.
Winds were strong when it left Cebu City, but the water was calm.
Seven hours later it was battered by huge waves, causing it to list and then sink.
