The huge fire on board Maersk Honam has been brought under control, according to India's coast guard (ICG).
The 15,262-teu vessel (built 2017) suffered a blaze 390 nautical miles from the Lakshadweep islands last Tuesday.
A sustained firefighting effort by ICG ship Shoor stopped the flames from spreading, reports said. Salvors Smit and Ardent were also brought in to tackle the fire.
