Crew have controlled a fire discovered in the engine room of a Maersk Line containership off the Canary Islands.
The company told TradeWinds the blaze broke out on the 2,890-teu Maersk Patras (built 1998) on 1 November off Las Palmas, while the vessel was en route to Conakry in Guinea.
