An Italian cargo ro-ro has sunk in shallow water after being brought into the port of Alexandria.



All 21 crew from the Ignazio Messina-owned 10,700-dwt Jolly Amaranto (built 1977) were evacuated safely inside the Egyptian harbour.



The vessel got into difficulty on Saturday 50 miles offshore in storm, developing a list of up to 40 degrees and losing some deck containers.
