Top reinsurer General Re has paid a relatively modest penalty to the US authorities to settle issues arising out of a claim paid to NITC the big Iranian tanker group.
The reinsurance settlement related to claims NITC made on the Steamship Mutual Underwriting Association between mid-1998 and February 2002 but are not otherwise specified.
