The 8,379-teu Maersk Stepnica (built 2008) was on its way toFelixstowe from Port Said in Egypt when it encountered violent seas off the Bayof Biscay.
French coast guard managed to recover one of the containers,none of which held hazardous material.
The vessel sustained no damage and continued on its way toFelixstowe and has since moved on to Zeebrugge.
