The Greek government cannot afford to remove the wreck of the Sea Diamond cruiseship, leaving owner Louis Cruise Lines with a potentially huge bill.



Marine affairs minister Yiannis Diamantidis said the EUR 150m-plus ($211m) cost of the salvage operation will have to be paid by Louis and its insurers.



The vessel went down off the coast of Santorini four years ago, killing two people.

The minister said: “The ministry cannot raise this shipwreck.
