Sixteen crewmen from a German controlled handysized bulk carrier have been hospitalised in Canada after falling violently ill.

Only five crew of the 30,000-dwt Hermann Schoening (built 2010) remain aboard the vessel which appears to have abandoned at least for the time being a grain export voyage.
