Four Ukrainian crew members were kidnapped off Cameroon around the same time that two others were taken from a Belgian ship on Sunday, TradeWinds has learned.
There is no word on the current whereabouts of the four, including the master, who were snatched from the 2,906-dwt Salma (built 1975) outside Douala port.
The chief officer, a bosun and the cook were also smuggled by up to 12 heavily-armed pirates at around 20:30 UTC on Sunday, the vessel’s second officer told TradeWinds.
