A Greek tanker has been refloated after grounding in the Gent-Terneuzen Canal in the Netherlands.

The 5,800-dwt chemical carrier Montauk (built 2005) ran aground on the embankment near Sluiskil on 24 June, the Cargo Law website reported.

The tug Evergem responded, but the vessel, owned by Trefin Tankers, came free under its own power.

Meanwhile, a Dutch pusher tug named as Orion suffered a fire at the Van Grevenstein shipyard on 22 June.
