A blaze that broke out on Japanese owner Doun Kisen’s 58,600-dwt bulker Kouyou (built 2013) on Tuesday has been extinguished.
The blaze started in a cargo hold while the ship was loading a cargo of scrap in the Dutch port of Dordrecht.
According to the vessel's Singapore-based shipmanagers, Dutch fire-fighters attended to the vessel promptly and the blaze was extinguished within a few hours.
