Austrian firefighters took two hours to put out a blaze that broke out on board German cruise operator A-ROSA Flussschiff’s 1,850-gt river cruiseship A-ROSA Riva (built 2004) yesterday afternoon.
German news reports indicate that 189 passengers and crew were evacuated from the ship, which was sailing on the Danube River near the Austrian town of Schoenbuehel-Aggsbach.
Several crewmembers who were attempting to fight the fire were later treated for smoke inhalation.
