The bulker that ran aground earlier this week in South America was refloated in the early morning hours Friday.

According to Argentine law firm Vega & Co., the 53,529-dwt AP Sveti Vlaho (built 2009) sailed to an anchorage in nearby Recalada to proceed with local coastguard formalities.

The ship, owned by Dubrovnik-based APS Shipping and managed by Atlantska Plovidba, was laden with grain and set for Italy, when it ran aground in the Putna Indio channel Tuesday afternoon after its main engine failed.
