For the second time in three days Cosco managed to avoid the hijacking of one of its ships off the coast of Somalia.
A large, new German boxship and several other vessels were also assaulted in a frantic weekend of activity which also saw a fishing vessel hijacked but swiftly rescued.
Cosco’s 16,300-dwt Tai An Kou (built 2002) was chased by pirates in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday morning.
