A Hyde Shipping containership has collided with a small vessel carrying passengers and cargo in Nicaragua’s Escondido River.
Mobile phone video shows the moment that the 262-teu containership Jan Caribe (built 1988) hit a vessel identified only as the Capitan D near the city of Bluefields.
As the Jan Caribe approaches, one passenger on the smaller vessel calmly says, "We're going to crash" before the containership begins to sound its horn.
