The French-flagged 5,770-teu Rossini (built 2004) was on itsway from Le Havre to Port Said when the boxes were swept overboard on Friday.
In a statement the French liner said none of the containershad sunk the last time a sea plane flew over the area close to the island ofUshant off Brittany.
The Rossini continued to its destination with a dozendamaged containers on board.
